Please contact your School before requesting to change your degree. If they confirm that they approve the change you would like to make, please complete the form below.

Please note that any change resulting in a change of Term 1 modules needs to be submitted by 18/10/2024.

Please note that any change resulting in a change of Term 2 and 3 modules needs to be submitted by 31/01/2025. After this, as long as the change does not include changes to modules, this can be done up to 04/04/2024.

If your programme started in January it is likely the only change you will be able to make is to remove or include a year in industry. Please discuss this with your School.

Please note your transcript of study will show a full history of programme(s) including the change(s) you have made. 

If you do not want to continue your current course but it is past the deadline, you may wish to discuss other options with your Department, for example interrupting your current year and returning at the start of the following academic year to change degree.

If you have not yet started your first year of study, and want to change your degree programme before you enrol, please email the Admissions team. 

Changing your mode of attendance means switching between full-time or part-time study. Further information about this process and the implications of changing your mode of attendance can be found on the form.

Please note that if you are studying at Royal Holloway on a Student Route sponsored visa, you cannot change your mode of attendance. The form will only be made available during the periods in which interruptions are permitted.

If you started your programme in January it is not possible to change your mode of attendance.

If you are leaving your room in Halls because you are changing to part-time, please visit your hall's reception desk to check out of your room.

An interruption allows you to pause your studies for a maximum of two years. This option is suitable if you want to stop studying temporarily and come back later. Further information about this process and the implications of interrupting your studies can be found on the form. The form will only be made available during the periods in which interruptions are permitted.

Interruptions of study in Term Three

Please note that only students who started their programme in January 2025 can request to interrupt study at this point.

If you started your studies in September 2024 or in a previous year, it’s not usually possible for you to interrupt your studies after the end of Term Two, as you’re considered to have attended all of the learning and teaching and the only requirement left is for you to complete your exams and assessments (which you cannot withdraw from at this stage).

A withdrawal from study will permanently end your registration with the University.
